Scientific Computing in the Humanities

The research in Scientific Computing in the Humanities already became a unique feature of the Heidelberg University. The establishment of the group “Computer Vision” (Ommer) in 2013 and the group “FCGL – Forensic Computational Geometry Laboratory” (Mara) in 2014 have been major enforcements of the staff infrastructure. Apart from a twinning project on automated documentation of monuments by an octocopter, there are numerous further collaborations active between IWR and both cultural heritage institutions and university partners.
